Sherry Sandler is a corporate attorney with 20+ years of experience managing legal, regulatory, and compliance matters for public and private equity companies. Sherry began her legal career at Milbank LLP, an Am Law 15 firm, handling sophisticated mergers and acquisitions and private equity work across various practice groups of the firm. Sherry’s experience at Milbank provided the foundation for her deep understanding of general corporate matters involving capital markets, bankruptcy, litigation, tax, securities, corporate finance, trust and estates, as well as private equity and M&A work.
Following her seven-year tenure at Milbank, Sherry embarked into a variety of in-house experiences over the last 14 years, advising on regulatory and compliance frameworks for securities trading at one of the world’s largest exchange groups (New York Stock Exchange), a broker-dealer/global financial services firm (Knight Capital Americas LLC and Knight Capital Group), as well as an investment bank (Rodman & Renshaw, LLC).
In her most recent role as Senior Director and Associate General Counsel at the NYSE, Sherry managed legal, regulatory, and compliance matters for multiple business lines and advised equity and options exchanges and related business units on exchange/SRO rules, FINRA regulations, and federal securities laws. She served as a trusted advisor to the C-suite and board of directors on ways to minimize risk exposure and additionally served as the lead counsel on broker-dealer regulation and compliance.
Sherry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology from Emory University and a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, magna cum laude.
